When Should I Remove My Wisdom Teeth?
Wisdom teeth, also known as third molars, are the last teeth to develop. They usually erupt in the late teens or as a young adult, which is why they acquired the name they did. 65% of the time there is not enough room and the teeth come in at an angle which can cause damage to the teeth in front of them. Sometimes they remain in the jaw and develop cysts from the sac they develop in. If there is enough room and the wisdom tooth can erupt fully and they therefore can be kept clean, there is no need to extract the teeth. If they need to come out, the earlier the better. The bone surrounding the teeth gets harder and more brittle as we age making it more difficult at an older age to take teeth out!
